Last week I had the opportunity to try samples of Edmonton’s first vegan food truck, Sailin’ On. By retweeting their post, 30 lucky winners plus their guests were invited to their pop-up event at Wunderbar on Whyte. Having missed this food truck season, they’ll be opening in spring 2013. I was super excited to have been selected from the draw and was thankful that my friend Nhan (recently turned vegetarian for the month) agreed to join me. My first private event!

“Chicken” Caesar & Ancho Chili Lime Tofu Wrap
Two samples were served that night: a “chicken” caesar wrap and an ancho chili lime tofu burrito. My favorite was the tofu wrap, having great flavor and a nice smoky kick. Nhan preferred the chicken caesar wrap and the salsa verde side. Overall I thought the dishes were great and look forward to seeing them hitting the streets next year. Not sure if these two items will be regulars on their menus or if new dishes will be rotating weekly but we’ll just have to wait and see!
