Photolog: Tzin Wine and Tapas, Downtown Dining Week 2017

Tzin Wine and Tapas is one of my favourite restaurants in Edmonton. I don’t nearly give them as much credit as they deserve, a review post rarely getting updated. Here’s a quick photolog of my most recent meal at Tzin, including the Downtown Dining Week 2017 menu. Must order (always): Bacon. Currently on the menu: Bourbon and Butter Cakes. It’s bourbon-y.

Updated March 2017 (Regular Menu)

Mushrooms Herbed Creamed Mushrooms, Roasted Portobellini, Pecorino Crisp, Arugula, Herbed Vinaigrette, Mojo de Perejil. An updated menu item for spring 2017, the mushrooms make a great vegetable dish to pair with a must-order: bacon.

Bacon

Bacon Maple Balsamic Apple Compote, Apple Mayonnaise, Crostini, Calvados Gastrique. The dish comes with three or four. I suggest getting four if you and your tablemate want to leave on friendly terms.

Tzin Wine and Tapas: Bourbon and Butter Cakes

Bourbon and Butter Cakes

Bourbon and Butter Cakes Pomegranate Molasses, Lavender Whipped Cream. Desserts are also on rotation at Tzin and this season’s feature is bourbon bourbon bourbon. It’s not as dense or as sweet as you would think, and definitely more bourbon. Nothing wrong with that.
