Edmonton might be land locked but that doesn’t mean we don’t have access to fantastic seafood. If you’ve had any seafood dishes from any local restaurant in Edmonton, chances are it was from Rob Tryon of Effing Seafoods. He’s probably already given you a hug if you’ve visited him at various farmer’s markets this summer.
Now that the warm weather is gone and things are getting kind of cold, Rob and his team have come up with a solution: #EFFINGLOVE Fish Club! Sign up for a pack and a bag of seafood goodies will be delivered straight to your door. You can also tack on other seafood options for an extra cost if you wish.
#EFFINGLOVE Fish Club packs come in three sizes:
- Effing Single (5-7 ounces per fish) – $59.99
- Effing Couple (10-12 ounces per fish) – $94.99
- Effing Family (18-22 ounces per fish, enough for 4 people) – $169.99
Each pack contains five options of seafood, are sourced, selected, and packed for you then delivered straight to your door. There’s nothing scary or weird and I love that there are options that I might not have tried or cooked before!

Last Friday’s downtown delivery came in a swank Effing Seafoods bag, slightly insulated and with a cold pack. I popped mine straight in the freezer and went straight to planning my meals. Included in the pack is an information sheet on where the seafood came from, what the best cooking methods are for each fish, and a recipe for one of the seafood options. I’m excited to try Northern Chicken’s fried rockfish!

I love that it’s not an obligatory subscription every month but is a one-time purchase. If you love it, you can always order more.
